This post is to let you know that I would like to be considered for the "People Taking Action Award" sponsored by WTKR News Channel 3.
This award to given to an individual who is making a positive difference in the lives of others! I want to share with you what I have done for people all around the country suffering from the "Lack of Knowledge" of Epilepsy! Please see the items listed below:
- I have written a novel titled "The Village" to open the hearts and minds of people about epilepsy!
- I have spoken at schools in the Hampton Roads area at the request of the students and the staff as well.
- Two film makers have shown the "potential movie" that this book can be to help others in more ways than just "Epilepsy
- My novel was the "first book" a high school student made Book Report on when he was not asked to.
- I have been to New Jersey to be trained on "Epilepsy Awareness"
- The Trinity Broadcasting Network, TBN had me on their talk show "Joy In Our Town"
- I have created a character named, "Mr. Kevin Bolden" to represent epilepsy.
- An attempt to make me a CNN Hero was made by a family from Virginia Beach going to Atlanta, Georgia
- A young lady with epilepsy was "donated a car" because of the Men's Group at my church when it was found that she had epilepsy and did not have transportation!
- A article was done on me and my book by the New Journal and Guide Newspaper
- Mediciglobal and Team Epilepsy created "The Village Book Give Away Contest" on the Internet. This contact went on for five (5) weeks where the best answer to "epilepsy questions" won a free copy of "The Village."
