I am so please to have talked to the Danny Did Foundation for Epilepsy. After reading the article about the loss of Danny to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) I contacted their foundation. The Stantons called me personally to talk about what we can do as a "team" to educate society about epilepsy!
As Tom Stanton, Danny's uncle and I have discussed, we want to make society aware of SUDEP but we do not want "fear" to be the first thing that comes to one's mind when they hear about Epilepsy. The loss of 50,000 lives a year to SUDEP is less than 1% of the more than 50 million people worldwide with Epilepsy . I am thankful to the Stantons for what they have done and what we all are going to do "together as one" to educate people about Epilepsy!
